Is pep compatible with the Thunderbird clone Postbox (postbox-inc.com)?

No.

Postbox has generally disabled add-ons, only white-listing a few like Enigmail. The current Postbox release is based on Thunderbird 52. We support Thunderbird 68 and 78 (and later for experimental users).

I'm sorry to say it: Postbox per se seems to be insecure since it's lacking a whole heap of security fixes that Mozilla/Thunderbird have implemented.

Inbuilt HTML-Editor? You get that as TB add-on.
